Field Employee App Launch

Project Summary

Customers use B2W Track to capture the activity of their crews for a work day. They capture employees, equipment, hours worked, materials used and delivered, job activity and more. A number of these customers were looking for way to track hours for individuals who don’t work on a crew.

The Problem

Supervisors need to be able to track their hours worked as they move between the jobs they oversee in a workday. Senior field employees occasionally need to work on a side job and capture their work outside the typical Field Log.

The Solution

We decided to build an app using Xamarin that could capture either the total numbers worked in a day or a clock-in and out functionality to capture the hours. To release the app in a shorter amount of time, we decided to start with capturing the total hours and add clock-in/clock out functionality in a future release. The app was designed with a plan for growth. In future releases we will also add the ability to capture repair requests, needs on a job, meter readings, etc.
